Galbanum Fassoukh | Purification & Protection Resin
What is Galbanum Fassoukh?
Galbanum Fassoukh (الفاسوخ) is a natural aromatic resin extracted from plants of the genus Ferula — primarily Ferula gummosa and Ferula galbaniflua — which grow in the mountainous regions of Iran, Turkey, and the Maghreb. The resin is harvested by incising the base of the stem, allowing a thick sap to flow out, which hardens into amber-yellow or dark brown pieces.
“Galbanum is a Mother Resin — its balsamic and musky scent purifies space and allows inner energies to flow freely.”
Used since antiquity, Galbanum is mentioned in the Bible as a sacred incense. The Egyptians used it in their religious rituals and for embalming. Hippocrates himself recommended this resin for its therapeutic virtues. Today, it remains a staple of Maghreb traditions for household purification and spiritual protection.
There are two main varieties: White Fassoukh (Fassoukh El Abiad), with a light yellowish hue, and Black Fassoukh (Fassoukh El Assouad), which has a drier, more granular texture. Both are renowned for their powerful purifying and protective properties.

Yes. Our Galbanum Fassoukh is a 100% natural raw resin, without additives, colorants, or preservatives. It is directly sourced from the Ferula plant and carefully packaged to preserve all its aromatic properties.
Absolutely. Galbanum resin naturally expands with heat and can become pasty. To handle it easily, place it in the freezer for a few hours — it will harden and be much easier to break apart.
